HP: ITO Coffee Talk - Back to the 80's

Last February 23, 2012, we attended the first ITO Coffee Talk for the year 2012 held at the SMX Convention Center. The theme was the 80’s so we dressed up with that fashion era in mind.

Of course, we stayed inside for the.. meat-y part of the coffee talk, which was the update / discussion / forum about the company and the unit (I don’t know what to call it) we’re part of. But, most of the Coffee Talk was spent taking photos and having our photos taken at the photobooths available outside the function hall.

The wall inside the hall was relatively clean and blank which was the perfect background for photoshoots. I enjoyed taking photos of my officemates Clare and Tateen because their outfits were really cute.

I would’ve taken more pictures of my other officemate, Argee, but she was on duty while at the event so she was pretty preoccupied. I liked her dress – all light and sexy – but I wouldn’t have been able to pull it off. It is a nice dress though, perfect for summer. This photo of her below is actually one of my favorite pictures from the bunch because it totally looks like it was from a photoshoot. (Yeay me for getting better at taking photographs!)

We actually did a bit of research about 80’s fashion so that we could pick what to wear. I ended up borrowing a crop top from my sister and improvising the skirt (it’s really supposed to ankle length but I made it so it was only around until mid thigh). I think I pulled it off. I wasn’t used to wearing a crop top though so I was feeling awkward for a bit during the start.

An inter-team contest was also part of the program. The different teams made presentations (singing, dancing, acting) which used songs and references to the 80’s. We didn’t really watch much because we were outside the function hall taking jump shots.

It was my first time to take jump shots (both with me taking the shot and with me in the shot). It’s a bit difficult since I have to get the timing right but I was able to take decent shots. It’s a cool experiment since I got to play around with the settings of the camera and also to familiarize myself more with our camera.

Apart from individual jump shots, we also took group jump shots, which I have to say are fun to choreograph. Group jump shots look cool when they’re all random but it looks really awesome when the shot’s really synchronized. The timing is more difficult because you have to make sure everyone is in the air at the same time. It’s a bit like synchronized swimming.

All in all, it was a pretty fun event. I actually really like dressing up and I totes enjoy having a reason to dress up. I hope our next event will be as much fun and that the girls will be complete. (Shout out to Angel!)

Anyway, it’s time for me to sleep. Good night readers! (^^)/~~

PS. If you’re wondering about the color and whatnot of the photos, I edited them using an action I downloaded from the internet. I really don’t remember where I got them though. If I had to hazard a guess, I think I got them from Chai Mungcal’s blog, LittleForestGirl.net. 🙂

PPS. Clicking on any of the photos above will take you to my Facebook photo album for this event. Just in case you’re curious about the other photos. 😛
